When asking yes or no questions most of the times the word "ли" is used. It is placed after the word or phrase we're asking about which is usually placed at the beginning of the sentence.
Examples:
| Яде ли хляб? | Does he eat/Is he eating bread? (as opposed to not eating bread) |
| Хляб ли яде? | Does he eat/Is he eating bread? (as opposed to eating something else) |
| Куче ли е? | Is it a dog? |
| Къща ли строиш? | Are you building a house? |
